In July 2020, the Chancellor announced
£2 billion of support through the Green Homes Grant (GHG) to
save households money; cut carbon; and create green jobs. Guidance.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
invited LAs, working with their local partners to apply for funding
(£200M) to be used to improve the energy efficiency of
low-income houses living in their area. The CosyDevon partnership
comprises of all Devon authorities, including Devon County Council,
as well as Community Energy Groups to improve the energy efficiency
of homes in Devon particularly targeting households who are living
in fuel poverty. The CosyDevon partnership, led by Devon County
Council, agreed to submit a bid to BEIS for this funding
opportunity and to explore opportunities to bid for a further round
of this funding to be released later in the year.
To submit a separate bid - it is likely that a
partnership bid would be looked at more favourably by BEIS.
Procurement issues to deliver by 31/03/21.
To not bid for funding - this is an opportunity, if successful, to
assist residents in Teignbridge to improve the energy efficiency of
their homes as well as reduce carbon emmissions.
