To approve and sign the minutes of the meetings held on 2 October and 9 November 2020.

The Minutes of the meetings held on the 20^th October 2020 and 9^th November 2020 were approved as a correct record and will be signed at a later date.

To consider the model code and feedback from political groups on the same, with a view to making recommendations to full Council on any changes to the Council’s existing Members’ Code of Conduct.

Members considered the new LGA model code of conduct and gave their feedback. In response to questions the Monitoring Officer confirmed that all Group Leaders had been asked for their comments and that the new document covers similar issues that arise in the existing code of conduct.

Cllr Bullivant proposed that the new LGA model code of conduct be adopted and this was seconded by Cllr Peart.

RECOMMENDED to Full Council that the new LGA model code of conduct be adopted.

The vote was unanimous.

The Chair addressed the committee and noted that over the last twelve months she had witnessed some officers be maligned publicly and their integrity challenged without any right of reply in the public forum. The Chair highlighted that officers work very hard and that they should be supported by members to enable them to do their jobs effectively.
