A decision was made by the Managing Director
following a request from the Clerk and remaining members of
Kingskerswell Parish Council, to issue a Section 91 Order in line
with Section 6, Schedule 1 of Schedule 6, delegation ref: 1A3 of
the Council's Constitution and pursuant to the Local Government Act
1972. The Parish Council is currently inquorate with only two
remaining councillors, but has five residents of the parish wishing
to be co-opted onto the Council. It was therefore agreed that
temporary appointments would be made to enable co-option of
sufficient members to make the Parish Council quorate
again.
As Teignbridge District Councillors with a
link to Kingskerswell were willing to be appointed to act at a
meeting of the Parish Council on 12 April in order to make the
Parish Council quorate, it was considered appropriate to make the
Order to enable and facilitate continued governance of the
parish.
