Teignbridge DC have allocated £15K of
the Teignbridge Council COVID Outbreak Management Fund (COMF) to
work collaboratively with Primary Care and the voluntary and
community sector to target specific households by overlapping fuel
poverty data and those with high-risk respiratory condition, in
turn targeting people in the most deprived areas. An opportunity to
bid for additional funding to enable more households to benefit
from this project was realised through the Population Health and
Prevention Funding and a bid was submitted within the deadline of
10th November 2023.
This cohort of approximately 100 households will be offered a home
energy advice visit within the boundaries of Teignbridge District
Council and the identified PCN’s (Newton West, the Coastal
Network and the Templar Care). Across all tenures this project will
help householders reduce fuel costs, as well as manage damp and
mould within their homes, small scale energy saving measures will
be provided alongside advice and referrals onto benefit maximising
projects, housing and safeguarding. The target group will be
identified by Primary Care Networks and shared with Community
Energy Organisations with the consent of the client, and a home
energy visit will be carried out by our partners Exeter Community
Energy company.

Option 1 - Submit bid to secure funding to
enable fuel poor householders with occupants with respiratory
conditions can access help and support to improve the energy
efficiency of their home and reduce their fuel bills
Option 2 - to not submit bid and limit of number of people who can
be supported through this project
