To approve as a correct record and sign the minutes of the Council meeting held on 22 February 2018.

The minutes of the Council meeting on 22nd February 2018 were approved and signed as a correct record.

Minutes:

The Council received a report updating Members on proposals to relocate an existing Council tenant from Bradley Lane, Newton Abbot.  The proposal was aimed to retain an important employer within the district, enable the redevelopment of Bradley Lane to move forward and preserve the Councils revenue income.  The Council received the report and noted that the detail of the proposal would be dealt with in the confidential part of the meeting.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

The Council is recommended to approve the following resolution:

 

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the Press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

That under Section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 that press and public be excluded from the meeting of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of part 1 of schedule 12 A of the Act.

Land Purchase

Minutes:

The Council considered a proposal to acquire land in the Newton Abbot area to facilitate relocation of an existing Council tenant.

 

The Council discussed the proposed terms of the purchase and lease and examined arrangements to protect the interests of the Council.

 

Resolved.

 

That the report, as previously circulated, be approved subject to the amount detailed in clause 2 of the recommendation being amended to read £1.77m.

Staffing Matters

Minutes:

The Council received and approved recommendations from the Council’s Appointments and Remuneration Committee held on 12th April 2018. 

 

Resolved.

 

That the report be noted and the recommendations of the Committee be approved.
