Request for Private Hire Vehicle Extension for further 12 months - EXZ 599 Additional documents:
Minutes: The Sub-Committee noted the information provided by way of the report. In particular the Sub-Committee noted that the vehicle’s MOT certificate expires in July 2026, with no advisories and the vehicle passed its annual taxi inspection test with no advisories. The Applicant was unable to be in attendance, but the Sub-Committee noted the details in the letter submitted with the application.
The Sub-Committee were satisfied that the vehicle was in a good and sound condition and that public safety would not be compromised by the granting of the licence sought.
Decision Accordingly, the Sub-Committee grants the Private Hire Vehicle Licence Extension as detailed in the report with the additional condition that the vehicle undergoes six monthly vehicle tests to monitor the condition of the vehicle due to its age. |

Request for Hackney Carriage Vehicle Extension for further 12 months - YD15 JUC Additional documents:
Minutes: The Sub-Committee noted the information provided by way of the report. In particular the Sub-Committee noted that the vehicle’s MOT certificate expires in August 2026, with two advisories and the vehicle passed its annual taxi inspection test with one advisory. The Applicant was in attendance and answered questions from the Sub-Committee confirming that the vehicle will only be used for a further year to fulfil a school contract. The vehicle is in good condition and the suspension will be fixed in September.
The Sub-Committee were satisfied that the vehicle was in a good and sound condition and that public safety would not be compromised by the granting of the licence sought.
Decision Accordingly, the Sub-Committee grants the Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence Extension as detailed in the report with the additional condition that the vehicle undergoes six monthly vehicle tests to monitor the condition of the vehicle due to its age and the advisories listed. |

Request for Private Hire Vehicle Licence for Vehicle over 5 years - LL69 BOV Additional documents:
Minutes: The Sub-Committee noted the information provided by way of the report. In particular the Sub-Committee noted that the vehicle’s MOT certificate expires in May 2026 with no advisories and the vehicle passed its taxi inspection test with no advisories.
The Applicant was in attendance and answered questions put to them by the Sub-Committee. It was confirmed that the Applicant is aware that the vehicle is now slightly over the policy age limit, but it is a reliable vehicle with low mileage and is economical.
The Sub-Committee noted that the vehicle’s age was over the Council’s policy for licensing new vehicles but considered that it had met all requirements other than age. As such the Sub-Committee felt they should deviate from the Council’s Taxi and Private Hire Policy in this particular circumstance as they were satisfied that the vehicle was in a good and sound condition and that public safety would not be compromised by the granting of the licence sought.
Decision Accordingly, the Sub-Committee grants the new Private Hire Vehicle Licence as detailed in the report with no additional conditions. |

Request for a small plate for a private hire vehicle - CK11 CUK Additional documents:
Minutes: The Sub-Committee noted the information provided by way of the report. In particular the Sub-Committee noted that the vehicle is listed as being a Mercedes in the report but that the Applicant will be moving this registration plate to a new vehicle and as such the photographs are of the new vehicle.
The Sub-Committee also noted that the vehicle would be used for executive travel transfers, business customers and special occasions. The Applicant was unable to be in attendance, but the Sub-Committee noted the information supplied in the Applicant’s request.
Decision The application to display a small plate on vehicle BYD, vehicle registration CK11 CUK be approved.
Having considered the photos of the vehicle, read all written material, and listened to the representation by the Licensing Officer and having heard what the applicant’s work entails, the Sub-Committee considered the resolution above would be best suited to the applicant whilst meeting the Council’s licensing responsibilities. |

Minutes: The Sub-Committee noted the information provided by way of the report. In particular the Sub-Committee noted that the vehicle’s would be used for school and social care contracts and a small amount of executive travel transfers. The Applicant was unable to be in attendance, but the Sub-Committee noted the information supplied in the Applicant’s request and by the Licensing Officer that small plates for this area of work is often seen as preferable by those being transported due to being more discreet.
The Sub-Committee were satisfied that the vehicle was in a good and sound condition and that public safety would not be compromised by the granting of the licence sought.
Decision The application to display a small plate on vehicle Kia EV9, vehicle registration WF73 XDP be approved.
Having considered the photos of the vehicle, read all written material, and listened to the representation by the Licensing Officer and having heard what the applicant’s work entails, the Sub-Committee considered the resolution above would be best suited to the applicant whilst meeting the Council’s licensing responsibilities. |
