Councillor Mike James

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Councillor Mike James of the Dawlish South West Ward. Councillor James was elected to Teignbridge District Council in 2023. He also served as a Dawlish Town Councillor and had previously been a Councillor in Torbay. A qualified mental health nurse, Mike was passionate about healthcare and had volunteered as a governor for Torbay and South Devon NHS. The Chair of Teignbridge District Council, Councillor Robert Steemson, said: “Mike will be remembered as a dedicated councillor who was committed to helping his community. Our thoughts and condolences are with Mike’s family, friends, colleagues and all who knew him.”
